John Adams High School is proud to offer several nationally renowned programs. John Adams believes for students to perform successfully, they need both a rigorous academic curriculum and safe environment. John Adams High School offers a world renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) program, screened STEM, Future Educator and Pre-med programs. Our students have the opportunity to participate in thirty-one sports teams, over twenty Advanced Placement (AP) and College Now classes We have credit-based early college partnerships with St. Johns University, SUNY Farmingdale, CUNY York college CUNY Brooklyn and CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies. John Adams has invested in state of the art career based classrooms in all small learning communities. The school has a new court room for the law academy, Zspace lab and medical training facility for premed, new graphic design art room, Virtual/Augmented reality hardware & software for our STEM/Premed Academy. John Adams also offers the Culinary Arts, Hydroponics, Airforce JROTC, Robotics, life guard certification, Mock Trial and Virtual Enterprise. Come to our open houses to see it for yourself!

Humanities & Interdisciplinary, Law & Government
The Justice, Law, and International Studies Academy offers a comprehensive look at the United States Legal System on a Federal and Local level through an 8-course CTE-style curriculum provided by the Justice Resource Center of NYC. The curriculum includes: Intro to Law, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Mock Trial, Constitutional Law, Legal Research, and Financial Literacy. The program also offers a variety of opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the legal world including: Moot Court and Mock Trial competition teams, internships with various law firms around the city, visits to Federal Court proceedings, plus after school programs and classroom visits from the Queens District AttorneyâÂÂs Office. In addition to the curriculum and opportunities, the Justice, Law, and International Studies Academy now offers a 4 course, 12 credit College Now Program from the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies taught at John Adams High School by actual college professors, joining the school-wide effort to push the college preparatory initiative for all students.
