Art
Information Technology High School's Arts, Music, and CTE Departments are rapidly expanding their sequence of majors and elective courses. We continue to implement our Art and Music Majors for grades 9-12. The Art Department offers a sequence of elective courses including Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture. The Art Majors program includes Drawing and Painting 1-3, designed for students who wish to specialize in these areas. This program enables students to meet all the State Academic Standards for Visual Arts. The Music Department offers electives in Music History and Music Technology, as well as sequential programs in ensemble performance, including Band, Chorus, and Strings. The Music Majors program is for advanced students, aiming to enhance their high school experience and expand their resumes in preparation for college applications. The ITHS Senior Band has earned Bronze, Silver, and Gold NYSSMA medals. This year, the Strings group achieved Gold with distinction. Additionally, ITHS offers a variety of Career and Technical Education Majors. These majors focus on different areas of information technology and are organized into three approved academies: Video Production Academy, Graphic Design Academy, and Web Design Academy. These programs prepare students for college and careers, equipping them with essential life skills.
