About

We are a college, post-secondary, and career pathway school designed to prepare all students to thrive. We offer a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses through our early college and career infrastructure that provides students the opportunity to graduate high school with a full year of college credits and paid internships leading to career opportunities. Students can also participate in paid three-year apprenticeships, as well as PSAL sports teams, including our championship winning football team. YCD students benefit from our partnerships with organizations like Google, Kaplan SAT Preparation, Counseling in Schools, Downstate Medical, SEO Scholars, Posse Scholars, Brooklyn College, City Tech, Medgar Evers College, Amazon Edhesive, Mouse Design League, Shawn Carter Foundation, and TRIO at Brooklyn College. Through our technology and media pathways, students also engage in documentary film making. We are part of the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) pilot, which helps us support career readiness for all our students. We have courses that help our ninth and tenth graders explore their career interests and develop readiness skills. Our students can apply for apprenticeships in tech, finance, and business, which allows them to earn and learn while in high school.
