Dreamyard Prep (DYP) provides rigorous academic and arts focused curricula that emphasize problem solving and critical thinking while deepening students’ understanding of all subjects. In 9th grade & 10th grade, students get the opportunity to choose an arts elective class each semester, which includes visual art, dance, vocal music, and theater. DYP also uses Restorative Justice practices to address social-emotional needs and mediation circles to address conflict, helping us to create a caring and safe school community. Our school is a FutureReadyNYC school offering the best of college and career exploration and preparation in Technology and Education - two of our city's fastest growing and highest-paid industries.

Students at DreamYard Prep deepen their artistic expression, build self-confidence, gain empowerment, and connect with the world around them through our diverse arts program offerings. While our students have the opportunity to explore a variety of arts disciplines in classes and extracurricular activities, the arts curriculum centers on dance, music, theatre, and visual art. Students study the arts in theory, practice, and performance. Our arts programs stimulate the ongoing practice of critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, providing students with the tools and ideas to create change toward elevating themselves and their communities.
