Mathematics, Science Research and Technology (MAST) High School, located in the heart of Cambria Heights, is a diverse and small learning community. As a STEAM School, our students engage in rigorous mathematics, science, or engineering courses with the arts and technology embedded within the curriculum. We believe students learn best by approaching academic and social challenges as learning opportunities. MAST HS is a place where students explore and seek solutions for challenges they face in our technologically-advanced world. Whenever possible, students attend Broadway shows and outside cultural events as well as in-house performances to celebrate African American Heritage Month, Women's History and the Multicultural Diversity of our school. Mathematics, Science Research and Technology High School's goals are to continue to integrate the arts into all content areas and create partnerships with various arts organizations to enrich the culture of our students so that students are able to express themselves through the arts and build their skills and knowledge in a variety of forms, therefore enriching our learning community.

Our S.T.E.A.M. program emphasizes the interconnections among mathematics, science, technology, and the humanities, prepares students to become creative problem-solvers, effective communicators, and tomorrow's leaders through a rigorous curriculum and collaborative partnerships. Our approach is driven by problem-solving and exploratory learning, which promotes student readiness for college, prepares them for the 21st century workforce, and provides opportunities for critical and design thinking. Specialized courses in the STEAM Program include Robotics, Engineering Design, Computer Science, Forensics, Hydroponics and Astronomy. The "A" in STEAM credited courses include Dance and Visual Arts that are offered during the academic day.
