About

Bronx Envision Academy (BEA) empowers students by emphasizing artistic and academic achievement. At BEA, the learning process in all academic disciplines mirrors the artistic process and we believe students learn best by doing-imagination is the key to success. We promote student success in partnership with teaching artists, arts organizations, and local businesses. Through our partnership with the College Bound Initiative, our students research colleges and tour colleges beginning in ninth grade. Dedicated to providing students with the resources necessary for their success, BEA enables students to master challenging coursework to graduate as creative and analytical thinkers ready for college and beyond.

Art
Bronx Envision Academy embraces the arts throughout the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to take up to two arts courses each semester, and we encourage students to explore an arts discipline in-depth to prepare for the New York City Arts Commencement Assessments. Fifteen percent of graduates from our classes graduated with a Regent's Endorsed Diploma with Advanced Designation in the Arts. Elective offerings include: visual arts, theater, dance, music, and music production. We also offer summer honors arts courses in the visual arts and courses in AP Studio Art 2D Design, and AP Art History. Students participate in artist residencies with arts organizations, such as Community Word Project and the the Park Avenue Armory, providing access to high quality arts performances and exhibitions for beginning and advanced students and paid internships for advanced students. Teachers are trained in visual thinking strategies, and students discuss works of art on a regular basis. Because the arts are central to Bronx Envision's core beliefs about how students learn best, BEA has recruited accomplished faculty with strong arts backgrounds. As a result, we offer many arts clubs during and after school. Current offerings include: mural-making, anime, digital photography, musical theater, dance company, visual arts, music production, and DJ-ing.
Programs
Bronx Envision(Y54A)
Humanities & Interdisciplinary, Performing Arts/Visual Art & Design

We believe that a strong college preparatory program includes opportunities for students to engage in a variety of courses. Committed art students may pursue in-depth study in visual art, dance, theater, or choral music throughout high school. We offer arts enrichment courses in the summer. BEA offers additional elective courses, academic support classes, and seven AP courses. All students participate in a strong advisory program and BEA's independent reading program.
