About

Bronx River High School is a top-performing high school in the Bronx, as evidenced by our class of 2022 graduation rate of 95%. We achieve this success by a laser-focused mission: to ensure that students are ready for college or career, both academically and socially, and that students feel deeply connected to our school community. We ensure that students feel valued, included and that their voice is heard. To achieve this mission, our school offers one counselor for each grade, freshmen start with one counselor who stays with them until they graduate. All freshmen students will be assigned to an Advisory class, which meets several times a week with the same Advisor for all 4 years. We offer Peer Group Connection, where freshmen meet once a week with a 12th grade Peer Leader. We offer a two year College Preparatory sequence where 11th grade students take a year long College and Career Prep class and in 12th grade students work one-on-one with a dedicated College Counselor. We have partnerships with Amazon, Mercy College and College Now, in addition to Advanced Placement classes. Outside of the classroom, students participate in college visits, attendance incentive trips, after school clubs, and sports.
