Manhattan/Hunter Science High School is an early college high school partnership between Hunter College and the New York City Department of Education. Our program provides students with the tools, guidance, and support they need to become successful college students, as well as leaders in a range of careers, not limited to science and technology. Students who graduate from our program will have completed several college courses, a cumulative research program, a Congressional Award School certificate, and the requirements for a New York State Regents Diploma with a semester of college credits.

Art
The arts program at Manhattan Hunter Science High School uses project-based learning to educate students about visual media, culture, history and mathematics. Educators infuse their curricula with multidisciplinary lessons that offer practical applications for students to utilize their expressive and creative talents. Our students transform themselves into active participants of their culture. In visual arts, students learn a broad range of art forms, including but not limited to sculpture, modeling, drawing, painting, and scenic design. They receive a broad education in the history of the arts featuring notable artists and their styles. In the performing arts, students explore animation, audio sound and sound design, film and TV study, acting, directing, stage combat and theater technology. Our acting and musical instruction addresses diction, projections and performance techniques, to instill confidence and ownership in our students.Students in orchestra perform in a holiday concert and end of year performance.

Early College program in which students complete college coursework at Hunter College prior to graduation. Students spend 12th grade on the Hunter campus. Strong accelerated academic programs, four years of rigorous math and science credit. Ability to earn additional college credits while at the high school.
