Art
47 American Sign Language and English High School has dynamic arts programs. We have a strong partnership with Third Street Music School Settlement and collaborate on productions with our Performing Arts Club each year. We also work with several museums, galleries and production companies, including New York City Center and Alvin Ailey II to provide in-school and afterschool arts enrichment for our students. We have a strong visual arts program and our students work with various arts media, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, set design, animation, photography and arts technology. Our students also work with our staff and community partnerships to create multidisciplinary arts projects which integrate visual arts with performing arts. We seek out opportunities for our students to experience the multitude of arts available in New York City. Our students attend and engage in discourse around concerts, plays, Broadway shows, arts and cultural exhibits as well as other arts opportunities around the city.
