Pathways College Preparatory is a 6th-12th grade school located in St. Albans, Queens. Most students are enrolled in arts classes: music, dance, and theater. The art classes meet 2-3 times a week. Music, dance, and theater classes put on three large shows a year. All students are involved in the shows in some way, with the majority of them on stage. Music classes are performance based and centered on a modern band curriculum. Steel pans are also combined with the traditional guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Multiple types (drum set, African, Latin, drum line), of percussion are taught. Vocal music is performed as well. Dance classes are performance based and centered on ballet and modern genres. Classes perform by grade level, with one combined class. Theater classes are performance and production based. Classes perform a combination of classic and original material.
