Forest Hills High School is a New York State Recognition School placing us in the top 5% of schools in the state. We have a long tradition of success through student achievement due to the variety of programs designed to engage students of all levels and interests. FHHS offers college level classes through its numerous Advanced Placement courses and through classes offered in partnership with local universities. Our special academies provide accepted applicants with real-world experiences that advance the students' learning outside of the classroom. Dozens of clubs and sports teams provide students with the opportunity to get involved in structured, competitive and community-oriented activities that compliment the students' academics.

Art
Forest Hills High School's Academy of Instrumental Music and Vocal Music as well as its Drama Academy provide students with rigorous conservatory style training and a challenging academic program. The Academy of Instrumental and Vocal Music provides intensive sequential instruction on all band and orchestral instruments. We offer classes in Music Theory, Composition, Performance Practice and intensive Choral instruction. Instrumental music students participate in: Jazz Band, Beginning Band, Intermediate and Concert Band, Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings, Symphonic Orchestra, as well as Beginning and Advanced Percussion Ensemble. Vocal music students participate in Vocal Training, Intermediate Chorus and Concert Choir. Our scholars perform at various events throughout the city, including a minimum of a Winter Concert and Spring Arts Festival annually. The Drama Academy provides students the opportunity to study the dramatic arts through a rigorous and specialized program involving acting, directing, play writing, film making, and play productions. The fall and spring theater productions showcase the arts talents of Forest Hills High School students. In addition, we offer Fine Arts (Visual Art) classes working in various mediums. Academy of Chinese Studies(Q19A)
Humanities & Interdisciplinary

This program is available to students who possess oral fluency in Chinese language. Students will develop high literacy in Mandarin and learn about Chinese culture through a sequence of classes and activities that culminate in an Advanced Placement, college-level class, a special project and the NYS Seal of Bi-literacy. This academy is supported by the Asia Society and the Hanban cultural group to ensure a full experience with Chinese culture.
