Bronx Design and Construction Academy is a Career and Technical Education high school that offers rigorous instruction that prepares students for entry into the competitive construction trades and post-secondary education. The skills students learn through their CTE coursework are applicable throughout the construction industry. NYS approved programs include Carpentry, Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technologies, Electrical Engineering, and Architectural Engineering. As a collaborative community, we ensure our students are prepared for both direct entry into construction fields and college upon completion of high school.

Bronx Design offers students an opportunity to explore their creativity through Studio Art and AP 2-D Art courses. Students have an opportunity to reflect on their growth while showcasing their art pieces developed throughout the school year at our annual CTE Fair.

Building Construction and Technology(Y51A)
Engineering

Students will experience all trades: Electrical Engineering, Carpentry Technology, Plumbing Technology, and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology as a rotation before choosing their desired field of study. Students will obtain OSHA certification prior to beginning college-level CTE coursework in their second year. Internships begin as early as the 10th grade. Students will also have access to NCCER certification upon completion of a building trade curriculum.
