About

We are a community of English Language Learners from all parts of the world, learning and working together in teams. Our school and classes are small. Students receive personal attention from teachers and school staff. We have 1 counselor available per 100 students. Students work collaboratively in small groups to learn English in every subject. Students are given a college preparatory experience, with internship opportunities in preparation for life after high school. We are part of the Internationals Network for Public Schools with over 30 years of successful experience working with recent immigrant teens and their families.

Art
At International Community High School (ICHS), the arts present an additional opportunity for newly arrived immigrant students to further develop their social and academic English language skills. We partner with Bronx Arts Ensemble to provide the following classes twice a week: Hip Hop, Afro Beats, Yoga, Capoeira, and Karate. A schoolwide assembly takes place in December and in June. Families and members of our community at large are invited to see a student performance showcasing all they have learned during the school year. In-house clubs and Building Beats support our student population in developing their musical skills. Lastly, at ICHS, we take advantage of the rich culture surrounding us by attending special arts events and trips throughout New York City.
