Curtis High School is a Community School whose mission statement declares: "Curtis will be a nurturing community where all of its members will have the desire and opportunity to achieve their fullest potential." Curtis continually seeks to provide academic, extracurricular, social-emotional, and health and wellness services that are comprehensive, coordinated, and responsive to the evolving needs of our community. Curtis consists of small learning communities (houses) giving students and faculty the opportunity to teach and learn with a more personalized approach. All students, supported by our faculty and a wealth of community partnerships and resources, pursue curricula that challenge and prepare them for a world beyond Curtis.

The Naval JROTC program is a leadership and citizenship training program co-sponsored by the Department of Education and the United States Navy. The curriculum is divided into three areas: academic, military skills, and physical fitness, with a strong emphasis on civics and character development.
