We provide students with a rigorous college preparatory education that provides them with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete both academically and economically in a global society. We offer our students a challenging academic program in a personalized school environment with a relentless focus on college and career readiness. We are part of the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) pilot, which helps us support career readiness for all our students. We have courses that help our ninth and tenth graders explore their career interests and develop readiness skills. Our students can apply for apprenticeships in tech, finance, and business, which allows them to earn and learn while in high school.

Art

The High School for Global Citizenship arts program fosters creativity and creates connections to its diverse community and equity within the arts to cultivate a dynamic community. The students receive extensive foundational art instruction in the field of drawing, painting, and sculpture, through the lens of art history that is both multicultural and expansive in its scope. In addition to traditional art courses, HSGC offers elective classes such as Game Design, Animation, and Technical Sciences that bridge the gap between computer science and the creative arts while strengthening or ongoing partnership with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Steam Center.

Engineering, Science & Math

This program is taught by certified Project Lead the Way teachers. Engineering students engage in open-ended problem solving, learn and apply the engineering design process, and use the same industry-leading technology and software as are used in the world's companies. Students are immersed in design as they investigate topics such as ethics, sustainability, mechatronics, forces, structure, aerodynamics, digital electronics, circuit design, manufacture, and the environment.
