The Grand Street Campus offers a music program of band instruction for over 450 students with the opportunity for students to play music of high artistic merit at their level of proficiency, from beginner to highly advanced. Students are placed into the differing levels of bands (beginner band, concert band, repertory band, symphonic band, wind ensemble) not by age but by musical progression. This allows younger students with a high level of experience to be placed into the top ensembles and it allows students to enter the band program as beginners at any age. In addition to the four main wind bands at the Grand Street Campus, the program offers three full jazz ensembles, a Marching Band, theater technology, three periods of Modern Band and a budding musical theater program. The Grand Street Campus also hosts the All-City High School Marching Band, the All-City High school Concert Band, New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Majors Festival #20 and the New York City Area-All State Music Festival. All Grand Street Campus Band students are given the opportunity to participate in these events.

Performing Arts

Four full concert bands, three jazz bands, Latin Band, two choral ensembles, Chamber groups such as guitar ensemble, brass choir, and clarinet choir; Annual theater/musical theater performances by students; Presentations at City/State Conferences; sight singing, Latin music theory, and music history, perform original repertoire. Art-Courses in art history, drawing, painting, graphic arts, stage design, and AP Studio Art (2-D & 3-D Design, Drawing). Also ceramics, mural painting, and sculpture.
