Art
At The Marie Curie School for Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions, teachers endeavor to instill in the students an appreciation of the arts as well as increase their understanding of the arts in history and the real world through hands-on activities. As part of our program, the students learn about visual arts, art therapy, medical arts, graphic design and careers that might allow them to incorporate their love of the arts with their interest in health and the medical profession. Our English and Social Studies Departments work with several cultural arts institutions to integrate theater and visual arts, photography, music, drama and dance into the curriculum. They provide professional development sessions, both on and off-site, to explain, demonstrate and model techniques for incorporating the arts into our academic programs to increase cultural awareness and raise student achievement by providing engaging artistic activities into their planning. As the arts program continues to grow, we look for ways to implement new opportunities for students to learn through the arts.
