About
At the New Cobble Hill, our vision is to know and empower our students as individuals so they will reach their maximum potential, make informed choices, and create meaningful lives. Through our programs and partnerships, our school offers the following: 1. PRE-LAW PROGRAM (K91B) offers a robust four-year sequence in Law in the collaboration with the Justice Resource Center. Students are given the opportunity to participate in Mock Trial and Moot Court Competitions throughout the year and are mentored by Attorneys in the Brooklyn DA's Office and Private Law Firms. Students in the law program have the opportunity to visit Washington DC, and sit in on Supreme Court, and visit the Capital Building, White House, and other sites throughout the DC area. This three day trip and all trips are free to our Scholars. 2. BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE PROGRAM (STEM)(K91A) is our challenging and innovative four-year sequence in Biomedical Sciences and is run in collaboration with Non-Profit Organization Project Lead the Way. Students in this program are invited to become a member of the National HOSA program club which is a national organization of secondary and post-secondary students that supports career development in health professions and improvement of health services delivery to the general population. Participants are mentored by Health providers (Doctors Nurses, Technicians). Students are offered internship opportunities in Hospitals, and health care facilities. Biomedical students have the opportunity to utilize state of the art technology including virtual reality devices that closely mimic the equipment that are currently used in hospitals and medical centers. Students also work in state of the art laboratories to obtain hands on experience in conducting dissections, and experiments. Students in this program have the opportunity to visit John Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland, where they experience the real life training and education of our future Doctors, Nurses, and Technicians. They also visit nearby Universities and sites within the Baltimore and DC area. This trip three day trip is free to all Scholars in the program. 3. ASD NEST PROGRAM (K91C) Through our Nest Program we cultivate partnerships across multiple settings: between members of the school team, alongside families, and with students themselves. We foster self-advocacy, navigate challenges, prioritize interests, and enrich social engagement amongst our Scholars in the Nest program. Educators teach the general education curriculum, using specialized supports drawn from evidence-based and promising practices. 4. ASD HORIZON PROGRAM (K91H) Through our Horizon Program we reinforce the belief that all students are neuro diverse. All students are respected for who they are and held to appropriately rigorous, high standards. A strength-focused approach results in improved outcomes, independence, and self-confidence. We are also a college prep school and our AVID focus empowers students with the college-readiness skills necessary for the 21st Century. We offer Dual Enrollment Courses via Syracuse University Project Achieve (SUPA); Outlier Dual Enrollment College Courses, and CUNY College Now courses. Students explore career options and areas of interest in a learning community that values achievement in character, culture, and academics. Our students graduate with as strong knowledge of self, active participants in their learning, excellent decision-making skills, pride in work and achievement, and a strong ability to advocate for themselves and others. Cobble Hill Students actively participate in our vibrant after-school program. Our After school program offers an array of clubs and teams that spark the passions and interests of our students. Some include Step Team, Dance Team, PSAL Boy's Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball, MOCK TRIAL MOOT COURT TEAMS, HOSA CLUB Drumline, Art Club, Soccer Club, Student Government, E-Sports, My Brother's Keeper, My Sister's Keeper Chapters, Opening Act Off Broadway Mentorship Program, Peer Leaders, Internships, Restorative Justice, Culinary Club, Chess Club, LGTBQ+ club, Student Government, and many more. Our Goal is to elevate their learning, while sparking their interests beyond the classroom. Our belief in extending student learning beyond the confines of a classroom guides us to ensure that school trips are a regular part of the class experience. Our students get to experience trips to Washington DC., Virginia, Massachusetts, as well as College trips beyond the tri-state area. Becoming a Cobble Hill Student means that you graduate from us ready to pursue your dreams and equipped to explore your passions.
